lyrics
Ausweglos, endgültig
Doch stets präsent und nah
Es löst sich auf mein Sein
Es wendt’ sich ab von mir
Lässt meinen Körper nur
Kalt und blass zurück
Die Augen ganz erstarrt
Die Ruhe herrscht in mir
Mein eisig’ Blick sei nun
Auf ewig zur Nacht gewandt
Nicht mag ich wahr zu nehm’
Den letzten Schritt muss ich gehn’
Nicht mag ich wahr zu nehm’
Das letzte Urteil ward gefällt
Die Leere hat mein Herz
Nun ganz und gar erfüllt
Die Leere ruft mich heim
Lud mich ein zu verweiln’
Kein Friede mehr
Kein menschlich’ Schrein’
Kein Gottes Wille mehr
Vermag mich noch zu trüben
Nur unterlieg’ ich nun
Dem uralten Gesetz
Dass alles wieder wird
Wie es einst war
Umgeben von der Dunkelheit
Umhüllt vom Mantel der Nacht
Erlischt mein Lebenslicht
Erlischt mein Lebenslicht
Ausweglos, endgültig
Doch stets präsent und nah
Das Gedenken ist, was bleibt
Ist, was bleibt
The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
US Melodic Black Metal. This may be a debut full length but it is from some highly experienced musicians. The melodies & the vocals are outstanding & I hope to hear more from these guys soon! Recommended! bmurator
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024
Extraordinary work by Antrisch, can't stop listening to it although Black Metal usually struggles to convince me.
Same like for Antrisch's EXPEDITION I: Dissonanzgrat applies: This album is strong from its first sounds of creaking wooden hull to its last sounds of wind and waves, deciding for a favourite track would not do justice for the geniality of the remaining five, the one coming closest to a favourite one could be I FESTGEFROREN - Packeisfalle in my opinion. onkelchristoph
