lyrics
We came into this world and took our lawfully place
We explored, we expanded, we explained
We started spreading our word and scripture
We receive, we remember, we repeat
Some believe that it is our faith
To be the superior race
That it is our right and obligation
To slave this world to us
We are the virus and not the host
We are the parasites of our dying cell
We are the virus and not the host
We are the hangman of our era
We are the most aggressive disease
We will spread! We will reign! We will fall!
We are to haughty to reflect ourselves
We will see! We will feel! We will fall!
Our world has fever the illness tears it down
it has enough of us we will not survive
Also this circle will close itself
the healing will take place
We are the virus and not the host
We are the parasites of our dying cell
We are the virus and not the host
We are the hangman of our era

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

US Melodic Black Metal. This may be a debut full length but it is from some highly experienced musicians. The melodies & the vocals are outstanding & I hope to hear more from these guys soon! Recommended! bmurator
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024

Extraordinary work by Antrisch, can't stop listening to it although Black Metal usually struggles to convince me.
Same like for Antrisch's EXPEDITION I: Dissonanzgrat applies: This album is strong from its first sounds of creaking wooden hull to its last sounds of wind and waves, deciding for a favourite track would not do justice for the geniality of the remaining five, the one coming closest to a favourite one could be I FESTGEFROREN - Packeisfalle in my opinion. onkelchristoph
