lyrics
Do you know the fear that narrows your chest?
Do you know the pain of staying alone in solitude?
Who decide what is right? Who gave them the might?
Why to follow society? Why kneeling to old dogmas?
Who is on your side when you‘re crumbled down?
Who holds your hand when you‘re laying to die?
Feel the compulsion of being devoted
To the superior holders of your strings
That are implanted through your thoughts
Be their puppet! Be their slave!
Do you know the fear that infects your head?
Do you know the pain that never can be healed?
Your vision of the world doesn‘t fit for anyone
Your opinion is what no one cares about
Are you wise because of this?
Is your way really the right?
Who is the one that narrows his mind?
Who interrupts the natural order?
We are all forced to be our own lord
To create our minds as we are pleased
Do you give up without a fight?
Do you stand strong for your right?
What is your reason, what is your purpose?
Where are you now? Where will you go?
Who is the one that narrows his mind?
Who interrupts the natural order?
We are all forced to be our own lord
To create our minds as we are pleased

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

US Melodic Black Metal. This may be a debut full length but it is from some highly experienced musicians. The melodies & the vocals are outstanding & I hope to hear more from these guys soon! Recommended! bmurator
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024

Extraordinary work by Antrisch, can't stop listening to it although Black Metal usually struggles to convince me.
Same like for Antrisch's EXPEDITION I: Dissonanzgrat applies: This album is strong from its first sounds of creaking wooden hull to its last sounds of wind and waves, deciding for a favourite track would not do justice for the geniality of the remaining five, the one coming closest to a favourite one could be I FESTGEFROREN - Packeisfalle in my opinion. onkelchristoph
