lyrics
Under moonlights shine, I‘m dying in my bed
Many thoughts appear, some thankful, some cruel
After life of working, teaching and loving
My strenght is coming to delayed end
After life of hating, I‘m sick, I‘m tired
All of this perceptions, I will leave behind
All of this corruption; I leave behind
All of this greed; I leave behind
All of this disease; I leave behind - Forever!
All of this weakness; I leave behind
All of this falseness; I leave behind
All of this body; I leave behind - Forever!
Shadows of bitterness; Grabbing, coming forth
Spirit of disappointment; Shouting without end
Announcing eternity in chaos
After life of learning; no wisdom, no fate
Only void and empty space; no fear, no hope
Shadows of bitterness; Grabbing, coming forth
Spirit of disappointment; Shouting without end
Announcing eternity in chaos
Angles of existence; Lurking through the ether blackness
Transform the being; Shelter of tired ones
Sleeping beyond matter; Chaos arises from the void
Redeemed from the burden of life, no wake, no sleep
Released from illusion of time and space
Shadows of bitterness; Grabbing, coming forth
Spirit of disappointment; Shouting without end
Announcing eternity in chaos

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

US Melodic Black Metal. This may be a debut full length but it is from some highly experienced musicians. The melodies & the vocals are outstanding & I hope to hear more from these guys soon! Recommended! bmurator
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024

Extraordinary work by Antrisch, can't stop listening to it although Black Metal usually struggles to convince me.
Same like for Antrisch's EXPEDITION I: Dissonanzgrat applies: This album is strong from its first sounds of creaking wooden hull to its last sounds of wind and waves, deciding for a favourite track would not do justice for the geniality of the remaining five, the one coming closest to a favourite one could be I FESTGEFROREN - Packeisfalle in my opinion. onkelchristoph
